Hello, I'm Jessica Oladumiye

The helplessness. That gnawing feeling in your gut. The lingering frustration. The sighs. The longing to feel close again. The fear that maybe you're the problem.

I know those feelings, not just from sitting across from people in the therapy room, but from my own life. I became a couples therapist partly because my own marriage fell apart, and I had to sit in the wreckage. I had to understand how two people could go from being deeply in love to feeling unheard, disconnected, and resentful of each other.

That experience made me curious. It also gave me a deeper understanding of how complicated love can become when hurt sits unresolved for too long.

"I'm not teaching you something I read about. I'm teaching you something I practice."

I'm remarried now, and I have the kind of relationship I once wondered if I would ever get to experience. Every bit of research I've studied and every hour I've spent training in this work, I've also lived out in my own home.

Whether you're married, engaged, struggling in a long-term relationship, or wondering whether relationships are even worth the effort anymore, you don't have to come to therapy pretending everything is fine.

Outside the therapy room, I write, speak, and mentor. I wrote As The Walls Came Crumbling Down because I wanted people going through divorce or a broken engagement to know they weren't alone in the grief, the confusion, and the rebuilding that can follow. I still hear from readers who tell me it helped them make sense of their own story.

How We Will Work Together

Sessions are collaborative rather than clinical in tone. You set the pace; my job is to help you both feel safe enough to be honest, including with the parts of the relationship that feel hardest to say out loud. You can understand why your partner is hurting without abandoning your own experience. You can take responsibility for your behavior without accepting responsibility for everything that has gone wrong. And you can learn to disagree without treating each other as enemies.

My Approach to Therapy

I draw from AEDP, Emotionally Focused Therapy, CBT, and Trauma-Focused CBT, but the model matters far less to me than whether you feel safe enough to speak your truth out loud.

Understanding What's Underneath

Sometimes the fight you keep having isn't really about what you think it's about. Old wounds show up in how you handle conflict, parent, experience intimacy, and let someone get close. I help couples see when that's happening, without letting past trauma become an excuse for hurting each other.

What Couples Therapy With Me Looks Like

Couples therapy is a partnership. You bring your history, your hurt, your hopes, and your fears. I bring clinical training, curiosity, and the perspective of someone who's lived through some of these same painful questions and come out the other side still able to love well.

Christian Counseling, If Desired

Christian counseling is available as part of an integrative approach for clients who want faith woven into evidence-based clinical care, always by choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. I provide online therapy only, with flexible weekday scheduling for clients throughout Florida.

No. Couples work is a major focus of my practice, but I also work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, divorce, infidelity, and major life transitions.

Trust can sometimes be rebuilt, connection can return, and you can find a healthier way forward together. Every relationship is different, so I can't promise a specific outcome, but I can offer a structured, honest place to find out what's possible.

I'm not here to decide who's the villain. I'm here to help you both understand what's happening between you, what each of you is responsible for, and whether the relationship you want can be built from where you're standing right now. Even when a relationship ultimately isn't meant to continue, there can still be healing, understanding, and clarity about what comes next.

Past trauma can influence how we experience closeness, conflict, trust, vulnerability, rejection, intimacy, and emotional safety. Sometimes a present-day disagreement activates something much older. Part of our work may involve recognizing when past experiences are influencing the relationship you are trying to have today, without using those experiences to excuse harmful behavior.

Yes, if that's meaningful to you. Christian counseling is available as part of an integrative approach, alongside evidence-based clinical models.
