Hello, I'm Tania Jacques

I am Tania Jacques, a proud native of Haiti and a Creole-speaking therapist who specializes in supporting adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I am especially passionate about helping those who have spent much of their lives carrying the weight of others โ€” serving as the family rescuer, peacemaker, caretaker, or strong one โ€” while neglecting their own needs in the process.

"I believe healing happens when we feel safe enough to put down everyone else's expectations and finally allow ourselves to be fully seen."

Family, travel, laughter, singing, and creating joyful moments are some of the things I cherish most. These values shape the way I show up in the therapy room, bringing a nurturing, culturally responsive, and deeply compassionate presence to every person I have the privilege of serving.

Many of the individuals I work with feel exhausted from constantly being there for everyone else. They may struggle with setting boundaries, prioritizing themselves without guilt, healing from painful relationships, or carrying the emotional burden of family expectations. Others are navigating the unique challenges of immigration, cultural identity, faith, or trauma that has left them feeling disconnected from themselves and others. Together, we create a space where you can process your experiences, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward the life you desire.

I deeply respect the spiritual beliefs, cultural identities, and personal boundaries of each client I serve. For those who desire it, I enjoy integrating faith into the therapeutic process as a source of strength, healing, and hope. My approach is collaborative and client-centered โ€” I strive to create a space where you feel seen, understood, and supported as you heal.

It is a privilege to witness people reclaim their voice, embrace their authenticity, strengthen their relationships, and discover that they do not have to carry life's burdens alone.

How We Will Work Together

My approach is integrative โ€” I tailor the work to you rather than the other way around. The goal is clarity, less emotional overwhelm, and the steady feeling that you are back in the driver's seat of your own life.

AEDP

Keeps us close to what you feel as it surfaces, creating meaningful change through moment-to-moment emotional experience and healing.

Brainspotting

A powerful brain-body approach that locates where trauma and difficult emotions are held, helping to process and release what talk therapy alone may not reach.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Helps loosen the grip of stuck thought patterns and develop practical skills to shift how you think, feel, and respond to life's challenges.

EFT Tapping & Solution-Focused Tools

Gentle, evidence-based techniques to settle an overactivated nervous system and build on your existing strengths as we work toward meaningful change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Therapy may be helpful if you're feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, anxious, depressed, stuck in unhealthy patterns, or struggling in your relationships. Many of my clients have spent years putting everyone else's needs first and are looking for a space where they can finally focus on themselves without guilt.

I work with adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, and low self-worth. I also enjoy helping individuals who have taken on the role of family caretaker, rescuer, peacemaker, or "the strong one" and are ready to create healthier boundaries and a more balanced life.

Yes. As a Haitian immigrant and Creole-speaking therapist, I understand that cultural values, family expectations, and immigration experiences can have a significant impact on mental health. I strive to provide culturally responsive care that honors your unique background and experiences.

Yes. I am a native of Haiti and speak Haitian Creole, so language is never a barrier to feeling fully understood.

Absolutely. For clients who desire it, I welcome conversations about faith and spirituality as part of the healing process. My goal is to support you in a way that respects your beliefs, values, and personal journey.

Many of my clients come to therapy because they are tired of carrying the emotional weight of their families, relationships, workplaces, or communities. Therapy can provide a space where you no longer have to hold everything together alone and can begin prioritizing your own needs, healing, and growth.

We start with safety. I take time to get to know you, your strengths, and what you are carrying. Together, we build a plan that honors your goals, values, and unique experiences.

No. Healing happens at your pace. We will never rush into discussing painful experiences before you feel ready. Building trust, safety, and a strong therapeutic relationship is an important part of the healing process.

EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique, uses gentle tapping on acupressure points while we focus on a feeling, thought, or memory. It can help reduce anxiety, calm the nervous system, and release emotional tension that talking alone does not always reach.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered. I draw from evidence-based therapies including AEDP, Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Psychodrama-informed approaches, and EFT Tapping to help clients heal, grow, and move toward meaningful change.

Yes. One of my goals is to help you build skills and resources that support you outside of therapy. I want you to leave each season of therapy feeling more confident, empowered, and equipped to navigate life's challenges.

My hope is that every client leaves therapy feeling more empowered, connected to themselves, and confident in their ability to navigate life's challenges. I want clients to know they do not have to carry their burdens alone and that healing, growth, and meaningful change are possible.
